INSOMNIA

Diet Plan for Insomnia

Are you ignoring the lack of sleep and attributing yourself as "workaholic" and gulping your cup of black coffee to keep yourself active.

Trust us your body will soon make you realize that it's the disruption of the natural healing mechanism of the body and this lack of sleep is medically termed as "insomnia" which has its Latin origin as in + somnus (sleep).

Take it very correctly that sleeping or resting is not at all unproductive (if it's in a healthy range as 6 - 8 hours), it is when the body re energizes itself internally.

Lack of sleep can lead to many health issues such as obesity , blood pressure issues , diabetes and many.

Falling asleep is very natural, but due to reasons as mentioned below few of us develop the condition /disease of insomnia -

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Less of physical movement as exercise
  • Chronic illness such as diabetes, obesity affecting the normal functioning of the body
  • Certain medication

In ideal conditions sleep should be a natural occurrence without any external support, melatonin hormone inside the body induces the sleep but if for reasons melatonin production is reduced it may lead to a grievous insomnia.

Nutrishilp does not recommend (unless essentially advised by doctor) the use of sleeping pills as an easy rescue against insomnia.

Rather it can be healed naturally through lifestyle and dietary changes as calcium rich food enhances melatonin, dairy products, magnesium rich food, chamomile tea etc can be quite helpful to fight this condition/disease.

And a set of food and drinks such as coffee (rich in caffeine), alcohol, and cigarettes shall be avoided late at night.

Feel free to connect with Team Nutrishilp for any emotional counselling, dietry and nutritional support to cope up with The Insomnia
